Harmony - a rather apt word to describe this well-balanced Japanese blended whisky from the Hibiki range. Hibiki Japanese Harmony is made with malt whiskies from the Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries, as well as grain whisky from the Chita distillery. The whiskies are drawn from 5 different types of cask, including American white oak casks, Sherry casks and Mizunara oak casks. The blend itself was crafted by the Suntory Whisky blending team, led by Master Blender Shingo Torii. An elegant expression, with wafts of honey, orange, a herbaceous touch or two and light oak.
I tried it about a year ago when the price was around 53 bucks in a local store. It's the first Japanese whisky I ever tried, and I tried a few afterweards but this one is my favourite. Excellent blend. Love the bottle, gorgeous. It's smooth and easy to drink but the way it's flavour opens up in your mouth makes for a great whisky experience. My first recommendation whenever somebody ask about Japanese whisky. I'm curious to try their aged stuff but it's price sadly skyrocketed recently.
very goof stuff
Been on the Japanese whisky kick for the past few months. This blend lives up to its name; harmonious smells, flavors and finish. Very drinkable and pleasing overall. Doesn't topple Nikka Yoichi single malt as my favorite but there is no disappointment here. Good stuff.
